Conservation partners hooked on finding solutions to water threats

Watch an interview with Riverkeeper Georgia Ackerman and go fishing on Apalachicola Bay while learning more about the challenges facing the Apalachicola River & Bay. Both segments are part of the recent Florida Sportsman Watermen conservation short documentary series featured on TV and online. A special thanks to Apalach Outfitters, Half Shell Dockside at Scipio Creek Marina, and Robinson Brothers Guide Service for underwriting the program in our watershed.

Conservation partners, seeking to reach recreational anglers and broaden the statewide awareness of water quality threats to Florida’s inland and coastal waters, teamed up recently on the Florida Sportsman Watermen (FSW) project.  This growing initiative includes Apalachicola Riverkeeper, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, Bullsugar, Captains for Clean Water, Florida Wildlife Federation, Friends of the Everglades, Miami Waterkeeper and St. Johns Riverkeeper. All are concerned about the health of Florida’s water and committed to working together on solutions.

A series of conservation videos and television fishing shows continue to be produced throughout the state.  All episodes to date can be viewed here.
