Concert in Apalachicola

September 29, 2023–Apalachicola’s Holy Family Center was filled with music and cheer during the “Rockin’ for the River” concert. The local community gave the RiverTrek team a rocking send-off for this year’s 5-day journey kayaking along the Apalachicola River. The Ukilillies kicked the show off with a chorus of ukuleles, vocals and even a few kazoos. When the VonWamps and Leslie Smith took the stage, the crowd took to the dance floor and conga danced around the canoe set up with refreshments. Many thanks to Proof Brewing for donating their new line of Curiosa Vodka, with future proceeds of Curiosa benefitting Apalachicola Riverkeeper, safeguarding the pristine waters and vital ecosystem of the Apalachicola River & Bay. A big shoutout to Dodie and John Alber for donating this concert to Apalachicola Riverkeeper.

October 1, 2023–We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at DEEP brewing in Tallahassee for our annual silent auction and river trivia day! It was great to talk with so many who are passionate about the river! Many thanks to new and old friends who came out in support of our 2023 RiverTrek team, including paddlers Rebecca Means, Deb Burr, Georgia Ackerman, and Dani Davis and longtime board member and RiverTrek alum, Katie McCormick. And a huge thanks to DEEP brewing for continuing to support Apalachicola Riverkeeper and for being wonderful hosts.
