September 15, 2024—Thank you Tallahassee area supporters! The atmosphere at Deep Brewing Company was extra festive for this year’s RiverTrek outreach event. Many long-time supporters were in attendance, along with people new to the work of Apalachicola Riverkeeper. Everyone delighted in the cooler weather that made outside conversations on the covered deck extra
pleasant.
Craig Diamond and Georgia Ackerman led 3 rounds of fun, informative river trivia. Doug Alderson, author and repeat “RiverTrekker,” shared a slide show highlighting RiverTrek expeditions over the past decade. We especially enjoyed the impromptu RiverTrek reunion that occurred. RiverTrek kayaking team and support crew volunteers that joined the gathering included Cait Snyder, Mike Mendez, Kim Sash, Eric Pate, Daniel Alsentzer, Rick Zelznak, Georgia Ackerman, Elizabeth Swiman, Deb Burr, Lee Rigby, Paula Carroll, Enid Ehrbar, Craig Diamond, and Alex Reed, and me. Paula, Lee and Doug are part of the 2024 RiverTrek team, too.
Joining me at the gathering were fellow board members Rebecca Jetton and Craig Diamond Former board members Chris Moran and Kim Sash also both arrived with friends and family members. Here’s a photo album.
