Tate’s Hell Run

October 5, 2024–Apalachicola Riverkeeper staff Susan Macken and Cameron Baxley were on hand as volunteers at the Tate’s Hell 5 K Run bright and early in the morning.  Diane Alix (Board of directors) was also an event volunteer.  This annual event supports local charities, and this year attracted about 75 registered participants. Cameron and Susan were there to assist with set up, registration and breakdown.  They also assisted with photography by taking photos of every participant.

Cameron hosted an information booth about Riverkeeper and had the opportunity to share information about ecology of this area, and our restoration, preservation and advocacy activities.  Susan said, “It was a great day, and we enjoyed helping and talking with people about our work with Riverkeeper. Whether they ran or walked, all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event.”

Riverkeeper is honored to be one of the charities receiving support from the proceeds from the event this year. Our organization is grateful to the organizers and participants who make this such a successful event in the Carrabelle Community each year.
