Join us on May 18th for Riverpalooza, a celebration of the Apalachicola River, Bay, and Floodplain!
We’ll begin the day with a community, coastal cleanup sponsored by OceanAid 360. Collect trash however you like – walk around and find trash by foot, grab your bike and pedal around, paddle the kayaks along the shoreline, or take your boat out to collect trash by boat. We’ll have a dumpster at the Apalachicola Yacht Club (AYC) for trash and debris disposal. To qualify for a free raffle ticket, drop off your junk (the trash and debris you collected) by NOON at AYC.*
After the clean up, we’ll gather at the Apalachicola Yacht Club for a celebration with music, food, and a good time. Join us for fun and a chance to win exciting adventure gear. Music will be played throughout the day by Clayton Mathis, Chris Matechik, Flying Fish, and the Funky Taters.
In addition, we’ll be hosting a Riverpalooza Raffle that supports Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s advocacy, engagement, and outreach programs. Enter to win some great outdoor gear and other prizes!
Raffle Rules:
Every ticket purchased will be eligible to win the 1st prize (Tarpon Kayak) or 2nd prize (Two Cruiser Bicycles). In addition, every ticket will be entered to win other great prizes throughout the day long celebration on May 18th.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Water Craft Brewing Company and Riverkeeper’s office in Apalachicola. Tickets also can be purchased on the day of the event at the Apalachicola Yacht Club! Tickets are $10 each; 5 for $40 or 10 tickets for $75, Cash preferred.
*By participating in the cleanup in the morning, you’ll be given one free raffle ticket for helping us clean up the coast! Haul your trash/debris to the dumpster at AYC to qualify for the free raffle ticket.
Need not be present to win. Winners will be notified by the end of the day on Monday, May 20th.
All proceeds from Riverpalooza benefit Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s advocacy, outreach, education, and collaborative science programs.
