Trey Fletcher joins Apalachicola Riverkeeper as Outreach Director

Trey Fletcher is a sixth generation Floridan who grew up in and around Quincy, Florida.  His youth was spent exploring the diverse ecosystems around the Apalachicola River Basin and the river itself and this inspired him to pursue degrees in anthropology and geology at FSU, and a masters degree in ecology at the University of Florida.  After working for the Atlanta Botanical Garden for many years, caring for rare and endemic plants native to the Apalachicola basin, he is thrilled to return to the area to join the team at Apalachicola Riverkeeper as Director of Outreach.   Trey explains: “The Apalachicola River runs through the history of my family, and it has been my privilege to spend a lot of time teaching people about the natural wonders of this area during my career so I am truly grateful to be a part of Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s efforts to preserve and protect this unique and vital system.”
