July 20, 2025–Today we honor the life and legacy of Dave McLain, a man who deeply loved the Apalachicola River and Bay. Dave’s booming baritone voice spoke up loudly for the Apalachicola River and Bay on numerous occasions during his tenure as a board member, Riverkeeper, and Executive Director. Dave remained a strong supporter of Apalachicola Riverkeeper long after his 
retirement. He also frequently stopped in our Water Street office to catch up on issues. We are grateful for his friendship along with his many contributions to the organization.
