Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s annual auction went virtual this year and it was a roaring success! More than 60 items were generously donated by artists, realtors, writers and many others. They ranged from vacation rentals at beach houses to framed original artwork, hand-crafted pottery, autographed books and guided kayak trips. All of the items featured a “Buy It Now” option and most bidders used this option…in the first hour! By the time the auction ended on November 19th, more than $13,000 was raised to help Apalachicola Riverkeeper continue its outreach, advocacy and educational work.
Many thanks to all those who contributed items and who participated in the bidding, and for board president Kim Sash and Deputy Director Diane Hines in setting up the auction. An online option will be used again for next year’s auction, a positive outcome of adjusting to the pandemic.
