Are you 70.5 years or older? If you have a traditional IRA, you can donate to Riverkeeper directly from this account, tax-free by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Giving through your IRA does not qualify for a charitable deduction, but the distribution can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD) without counting towards your taxable income.

Volunteers help us in multiple program areas, especially with our river education, visual surveys and community outreach efforts. Activities can include hosting Riverkeeper information booths at festivals and community events, helping coordinate fundraisers, assisting with riverine and coastal clean-up activities and leading and/or assisting paddle guides with river trips, to name a few.

Administrative-office support is another needed volunteer role.
