Deep Brewery Work Meeting a Success

by Doug Alderson

Many hands make for light work, the old saying goes. This was certainly evident Sunday, August 12, when a dozen volunteers gathered at Deep Brewery in Tallahassee. The task was to address and stamp nearly a thousand postcards to boost Apalachicola RiverTrek fundraising and it took less than an hour. The group included RiverTrek coordinator Tommy Thompson and his wife, Rody. Of course, it is not difficult to organize a meeting at a brewery and this was just a warm-up for the Apalachicola RiverTrek fundraiser at Deep Brewing Co., Friday evening, September 14th, from 4-9 p.m., being organized by RiverTrek alum Elizabeth Swiman, Katie McCormick and Kim Sash. Deep Brewery is even developing a specialty brew, Deeptoberfest for the event! Additionally, for the entirety of September, a portion of Deeptoberfest purchases will benefit Apalachicola Riverkeeper. So, enjoy libations while helping the Apalachicola River and Bay!
