OSPREY PROGRAM

 
 Providing a citizen-centered approach to the BP-Deep Water Horizon oil spill through community discussion forums, coastline assessments by citizen scientists, on-going monitoring of key indicator species in the Apalachicola Bay area, recommend an improved oil spill response to the local and state Emergency Operations Center to be incorporated in the area contingency plan and participate with other Waterkeepers throughout the Gulf region as part of the Save Our Gulf effort.In addition, the working with the Coastal Plains Institute to develop field protocols for video-monitoring currently lacking in the scientific field.  Funded by the Knight Foundation through the Community Foundation of North Florida.
