Marianna & Chipola College visit

Monday, November 19, 2018– Dr. Andy Opel and I traveled to Marianna early Monday to screen the recently-released documentary, Stories from the Apalachicola: An Endangered River with Chipola College students. Two Environmental Science classes of Dr. Santine Cuccio viewed the film and participated in discussions related to the film production and the complexities of the challenges facing the Apalachicola River and Bay system. Chad Taylor, resident and a long time former board member joined the group along with Dr. David Hilton.

Hurricane Michael related destruction was evident on campus throughout Marianna as we traveled to visit two Chipola River boat landings, Yancy and Magnolia. Minor flooding along Chipola was seen from the boat landings.
