Who is the Apalachicola Riverkeeper?

The Apalachicola Riverkeeper is a non-profit organization made up of professional staff, board of directors, members and volunteers.  We monitor the Apalachicola from the upper reaches at the Florida/Georgia line downstream 108 miles, through the middle reaches around Wewahitchka, into the Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

Our Vision
  • We believe:  A healthy and well-protected Apalachicola River & Bay are part of every American's heritage.
  • We envision:  A day when the Apalachicola enjoys its fair share of the waters of the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint watershed  - and is guaranteed that share in perpetuity.
  • We envision:  A day when the whole web of life that the river and bay represent is intact, respected nationally, and protected from any threats attributable to man.
